Homemade Superfood Gummy Bears

This was such a fun project. Donovan absolutely loves them and I can be happy that he is getting vitamins galore. I will definitely be making these more often. I want to experiment with different flavor combinations and natural colors. I will need a ton more molds though or it will take all day. I only have one so far and I simply poured the rest of the gummy bear mixture into a pyrex dish which I cut into little squares. This is probably the recommended way to make them, but I just love the little bears. I have loved gummy bears my whole life, so I am slightly obsessed with these.

Instructions
  1. Make the smoothie starter. Blend the cherries, cantaloupe, water & acai powder in a blender.
  2. Pour smoothie into a small saucepan.
  3. Heat until melted, but not hot.
  4. Spoon gelatin on top and wait for it to "bloom". All of the powder will disappear and it will look thick and wrinkled.
  5. Turn stove to medium and whisk in raw honey. You are warming the mixture to blend the ingredients. Once you can dip your finger in and not feel a grainy feeling, then you are good.
  6. Now you can choose to use the dropper to add the liquid to the bear mold or pour into a pyrex dish and cut out squares once it is chilled/formed.
  7. Chill in the fridge until hardened.
  8. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
  9. Watch your little one smile.
